How Silent Bear got his name

A long time ago Bastante Solipsis Marquez got lost.  He got so lost he couldn't find himself.  He discovered one day that he was sleeping in a ditch.  He went out to the road and stuck out his thumb, to hitchhike anywhere.  Nobody drove by.  After a long time passed he crossed the road to hitchhike anywhere else.

He was that lost.

He was so lost, he lost the ability to speak.   Days and weeks and months went by and Bastante observed them pass without speaking.  He had gone silent.

Sleeping by a creek, one day he met a Native American who saw him clearly and took him home.  He was adopted by a Cherokee clan, the Clan of the Cave Bear.  They took him in and kept him fed and helped him find work and let him sleep in the yard.   They taught him how to pray, and they taught him how to sweat, and they taught him how to carry himself as he traveled the Red Road.

The clan mother was White Wolf, and the clan elder was Black Wolf.  Bastante's brother was Traveling Wolf.  Uncle Moon and Uncle Eagle, and Grey Wolf and Crazy Bear, and Medicine Eagle and Red Bear were also in the clan.   Buffalo Woman and Auntie Fish Eagle and Two Coyotes and Earth Man with a Good Heart and Huitzilopochli were from different tribes, but they were close relatives, who sat up and prayed with Bastante. Even though they were from other tribes, they were part of the clan.

They gave him a Cherokee name.  They called him Silent Bear.

This is a true story.

Out of the dumpster

Heap Coyote spotted Silent Bear on sovereign land by the ocean.

They smoked.

Heap Coyote spoke.

"Heap police officer came on soveriegn land last Friday.  Lookin to arrest."

"The Kanaka brought out the deeds and lay down his staff.

He got on his knees  before the police officers, and declared his non-violence and his title and his rights as an heir of sovereign land."

Silent Bear said nothing.

"After  three hours of nonviolent confrontation, the police offers left in good spirits and no one was arrested. "

Silent Bear smiled.

"Kept a fire goin the whole time."

Silent Bear spoke:

"Just like that, the war is won!"

"The tribe of the Earth Mother Goddess has engaged in conflict with the wrathful Sky God of legal language, the language of the Law, the Babylonian Language of the Babble-Law..."

"Babylon," said Heap Coyote.

Silent Bear nodded.
“Babble-On.”

He continued:

“The Earth Guardians of the Temple of the Heart have nonviolently engaged with the all-powerful Officers of the Language of the Mind.  And the warriors of the heart have emerged victorious!  Love for the world has triumphed over conflict!"

They both smiled on the gorgeous and horrible battlefield of life itself.

Silent Bear spoke yet again:

"Law-Babel is written language, the Babble Language of the Babble-Law... memorized and written down, unlike the unspoken wisdom of the heart.  These ancient Babylonian Laws, the legal Babel laws of ancient Babylon sent many officers of the Law to arrest peaceful residents of sovereign Tribal land, and after several hours of nonviolent confrontation they left in good spirits, and the spirit of the land and its people remained well- defended...

...by the Law, the Babble Law.

“VICTORY!”

He raised his fists.

“In the end, their own most invincible and lethal weapon, the legal language of the Law, was used against them.   They were consumed by their own aggression, as must always be,” said Silent Bear.

“Just like that we have won the war.”

They shook hands.

"It's all of us or none of us," said Heap Coyote.

The sun continued to set on a world that had become victorious over conflict itself, winning the eternal war between him and her- the head and the heart
